EVENTS CONTINUOUS THROUGHOUT THE WEEK

A WINNIE THE POOH CHARITY STALL IN THE BOURNEMOUTH
LOWER PLEASURE GARDENS – for 50p per ticket you could win one of the many different Winnie the Pooh prizes. All profits go towards the future
of Bournemouth Carnival Week.

RAFFLE – Raffle tickets will be available during the week at the
Charity Stall and at All events from Committee members; 20p per
ticket and prizes Include: Travel Vouchers; Wines; Spirits; Chocolates;
Family tickets to various theme parks and more.

  • 7.30 pm - SELECTION OF CARNIVAL QUEEN; PRINCE CONSORT; PRINCESS
    AND PAGE BOY

Open To All Young People Resident Within The Bh1 To Bh12 Areas.
Age Limits For Entry: - Carnival Queen and Prince Consort – over 14 and under 20 Years of Age.
Princess and Page Boy – Over 10 and under 13 years of Age.

The elected Court will head
The Carnival Procession on Sunday 8 August and represent the Town
At other Carnivals and Fetes and be involved in some functions
During the Bournemouth Bicentenary celebrations.

MONDAY – 2 AUGUST  
 

DURLEY CHINE

  • 10.30 am - "Superstars" events with your friendly Carnival Crew to get the week
    off to a good energetic start.

Open to all children up to the age of 16 years in an enclosure on the sand. Prizes in selected age groups.

 
  • 11.15 am - The first of our Sand Building Contests so bring your buckets, spades and anything else required to impress the judges with your creative designs.

Open to all children up to the age of 16 years and depending on number of entries they will be split into three age groups. Prizes in each group.

 
  • 2.15 pm - More creativity, this time with Chalk Drawing, will we find the next Picasso?
Open to all children up to 16 years. Entrants will be split into three age groups depending on numbers and the best three in each age group will receive prizes.
Event will take place in a marked off area on the promenade. Chalks supplied.
 

BOURNE STREAM -

  • 4.30 pm - Duck Racing for parents and children with ducks to race for only 20p - Great Fun!

Plastic Ducks supplied on payment of 20p entry fee. There will be a minimum of 10 heats with 10 or 12 ducks each race; the winner of each heat will go to final race and the winner of the final will receive a Special Prize award.

Time to grab your castanets and do some Salsa dancing (not flamenco as stated in our programme) with LATINO BEAT followed shortly afterwards by S & J DANCE GROUP with pupils from just 2 years of age, an event not to be missed.

Assembly of vehicles at Monkey Island, East Overcliff Drive.
 
  • 12.00 pm - Judging of entries for the Bournemouth 2010 Bicentenary Carnival Procession
Prize money kindly sponsored by the GRASS ROOTS FOUNDATION
 
  • 1.00 pm - Judging of walking entries for the Carnival Procession
 
 
  • 1.15 pm - Announcement of winners and presentation or prizes and special certificates to everybody for taking part
 
 
  • 2.30 pm - Carnival Procession moves off
The Procession will follow the following route: Along East Overcliff Drive, down Russell Cotes Rd, into Bath Rd, over to Westover Rd, through Gervis Place, across Old Christchurch Rd and into Yelverton Rd, over Richmond Hill and down St Stephen's Rd, left into Braidley Rd, left at the Town Hall into Bourne Avenue, round the bend and up Commercial Rd, turning left at the top into Terrace Rd and down passed the B.I.C and into the Pier Approach where we will rest until 5pm.
